Breaking Good with the Open Source Malaria Consortium

From 2015 - 2020, first year undergraduate students at the University of Sydney have synthesised new molecules that have been screened against the malaria parasite by the Open Source Malaria consortium.

Breaking Good with the Open Source Mycetoma Consortium

From 2021, first year undergraduate students at the University of Sydney have been working on synthesising new molecules that are tested for their activity against Mycetoma by the Open Source Mycetoma consortium.

From 2022, year 11 and 12 chemistry students from schools across Sydney have been invited to be part of this program. Students synthesise new drug candidates from the MycetOS Series 2. The molecules are characterised by chemists at the University of Sydney, and students are sent the results for analysis as part of their Depth Study.
